Understory is a ‘site-specific’ art trail. This means all artworks have been created in direct response to the Understory experience. Each artist has visited Northcliffe, spent time walking in the forest, talking with locals, researching the area’s history, fauna, flora and culture. The resulting artworks are intentional for a specific site.
This is a key point of distinction between the Understory experience and most other art trails currently on offer in Australia and overseas.
