The inspiration for this exquisite hand painted china tea set, called ‘Peacock Spider Comes to Tea’ is the stunning Peacock Spiders of the Southern Forests region. These miniature, yet magnificently coloured and ornately patterned beauties rumble and romp in the leaf litter, while most humans are oblivious to their existence. Featuring 12 species of peacock spider local to the South West, this whimsical work celebrates these wondrous creatures, and perhaps challenge some assumptions about china painting.
