Understory is a multi-arts experience.
Each artwork has been created in response to the unique landscape, people and history of the Southern Forests region (Northcliffe in particular).
New artworks are added to the trail regularly.
AUDIO TOUR
Our Canopy: Songs for the Southern Forests audio tour features interviews with musicians that created tracks for the Canopy audio CD. Excerpts from each of the tracks is included.
Featured artists include David Pye, Djiva, Joel Barker, Mel Robinson, Kevin Smith & Brendan Humphries (Kill Devil Hills), David Hyams, Libby Hammer, Bernard Carney, Pete Jeavons (Low Key Fu) and Ann Rice.
CANOPY CD
12 tracks of original music were commissioned for Understory in 2006. These feature on our Canopy audio tour and CD. They were performed live at the inaugural Southern Forest Arts Festival in 2006.
